Watching my Cubbies in the Little League Classic. What a great idea to play a game at Williamsport during the Little League World Series. ⚾️
Ryan now punctuates his arguments with “Checkpoint!” I don’t have the heart to tell him it’s really “Checkmate.”
Canadian Apple Stores are just as busy as American Apple Stores.
Ryan, age 7: There’s one thing I don’t understand about Star Wars. How exactly did Han Solo dodge Greedo’s shot? I don’t get it…
Me: Neither do I, bud.
Baked snickerdoodles with Norah tonight. (Actually, she baked. I supervised.) 🍪
Alexa’s been pretty accurate in adding things to our shopping list, but I’m not sure what “Bieber Towels” are…
Ryan has discovered old episodes of Mythbusters on Hulu. I think we’ve watched it non-stop this week.
My 7 year old walks into the kitchen with his favorite pajamas on. He’s comically outgrown them. Stomach sticking out. Ankles showing. He sighs and says “Alexa… Add Ryan Pajamas to the shopping list.” Then shakes his head and walks out.
My favorite part of the Home Run Derby are the little kids shagging flies in the outfield. ⚾️
One of the things I love about Squarespace — and one reason why I’ve hosted my site with them for over 10 years — is how easy it is to adjust the look of my site. I know there are other, cheaper, options, but I haven’t found anything easier.
Celebrating Independence Day 🇺🇸 by relaxing at home and watching my Cubs ⚾️ on ESPN.
I’m sure the rumored Apple laptop will be called the “16-inch MacBook Pro (2019).” But personally, I’d love to see the name PowerBook return to the lineup.
MacBook > MacBook Air > MacBook Pro > PowerBook
Went swimming with my Apple Watch 4 for the first time tonight. Automatically started a workout and accurately kept track of my laps. Pretty nice.
Trying to get a bunch of work done at my desk and was struggling to find the right soundtrack. Settled into Achtung Baby, but I wonder what other albums people listen to while working… 🎧
Taking the day off from work to (hopefully) finish my mass communications history paper. Current soundtrack: Motown.
Ryan had a blast at soccer tonight and scored his first goal. (Also awesome about 7-year-old soccer… hugs for parents between quarters.)
7-year-old: “Riverdance. That’s where I get all my sweet moves.”
Our 11-year-old is now almost as tall as her 14-year-old sister. (And big sister isn’t exactly short.)
I now have my entire Facebook post history in an Excel spreadsheet. The first step in trying to build a physical book with all my family stories from the last 11 years.
I took today off. So of course I’m sitting in a coffee shop researching the history of the Linotype.
