Today was a great day to be a geek… a new Avengers: Endgame trailer and an awesome Star Trek: Discovery.

Captain Marvel was amazing. I think this was the first superhero movie my 11-year-old daughter really enjoyed.

Just came across a tutorial for using Python for sentiment analysis on the Programming Historian site... add to that the use of Python in type design and data visualization. It really seems like the language I need to learn. 

My seven-year-old: “This cereal is two of my favorite things… fruit and pebbles.”

My professor banned use of the word “interesting” today. Now I can’t stop saying it.

One thing I love about Star Trek Discovery is how unexpected it can be. 🖖

Tonight's music selection: REM. I haven't listened to classic REM in a long time. Forgot how much I like the old stuff.

My seven-year-old son excels at the guilt trip. I’d be impressive if it didn’t make feel like crap.

Turns out the green tea I bought and thought was caffeine free… not caffeine free. Which might explain the whole I’m-wide-awake-at-4:30-am thing. But at least I’ve gotten some work done on one of my class assignments.

My new Saturday night ritual is studying in Starbucks.

My daughter and I started an extended license plate game this summer. Trying to find all 50 states. I thought Hawaii and Alaska would be hard, but actually, we’ve seen several of each. The one we are still missing: South Dakota.

I really don’t watch scheduled television much any more. Everything is just streamed whenever… except for Star Trek Discovery. I watch that as soon as I can when it comes out on Thursdays. 🖖

Proud of my oldest daughter who made her JV lacrosse team for this year. 🥍

London Fog is my new favorite Starbucks beverage. (Basically an Earl Grey Tea Latte.)

7-year-old: Can you help me really learn my left from my right? Because I’m really going to need to know that to pass my driver’s test.

I have a Monday morning class this semester. Prior to the semester, I was confident I’d hate the day and time. But actually, it’s a great way to start the week.

Anyone have a recommendation for a good app (Mac or iOS) to read and archive PDFs? In grad school, it seems everything I have to read is a PDF.
