Ready Player One

I just finished Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. It's a fun little book, full of obscure 80's cultural references. (Well, the cultural references aren't completely limited to the 1980's. There are plenty of references to geekdom from other eras, too.)

Ready Player One checks of the all the modern sci-fi themes. Dystopian future? Check. Out of control corporations? Check. Virtual Reality? Check.

It starts out slow, but once it gets going, it moves along at a pretty good pace. A good read, considering it's only $3.99 right now for the Kindle.

Another reason to read the book: Spielberg is directing the movie adaptation that will hit theaters in 2017.
